Essential Oils and aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is a word that we've been hearing a lot of and generally people seem to be more aware of the uses and applications of essential oils in aromatherapy. We do not carry essential oils at this time but some of our products may contain essential oils. Here we highlight some common uses of some popular essential oils to help you decide on the right type of product for you. Remember to do a skin test with any of our products as even though they may be natural and usually organic, some people may be naturally allergic to the botanicals themselves.
Generally, aromatherapy is still considered an "alternative" or "complementary" medicine not to replace conventional medicine. There may still exist many unproven purported uses of essential oils. It is good and necessary to find out more about the essential oils before using them to help you use them safely and appropriately. Here are some links that may be useful: General information

Summary table of some popular/common essential oils
Most oils will be labeled with concentration (if not absolute) and scientific name of the plant. They also carry expiry dates. Some scented oils are synthetic and meant for air freshening or perfuming purposes and are not essential oils meant for aromatherapy. Look at the labels carefully and question the storekeepers.
Essential oils can seem costly at first, but this is usually because they are highly concentrated and are extracted from a great amount of fresh material (flowers, leaves, etc.). Essential oils from different origins can also differ in cost. Today, there are also essential oils that are extracted from plants grown organically. Look out for the certification.
